Jayden: One ELLE of a Metallica Wish Come True
Jayden, an 18 year old from West Chester, Ohio plays the guitar and not only loves the band Metallica but enjoys playing their music.
This August Jayden, along with his parents Cassie and Jay, younger sister Chloe and girlfriend Zoe, traveled to Minneapolis for a Metallica Concert along with a private Meet & Greet with the members of the band.
Each member of the band came in individually to spend some time with Jayden with Robert talking about band history and Lars discussing what it takes to be a great drummer (something Jayden is interested in), to James signing Jayden's wheelchair and Kirk talking about the skills and challenges involved in tuning his guitar - a model that Jayden also plays. All band members were impressed with Jayden's wealth of knowledge about the band and their music.
To sum up the experience for Jayden and his family, we share with you this note from Jayden's mother:
"I am so thankful for the ELLE Foundation Inc for making Jayden's wish come true! I haven’t seen him smile like this in so long. Metallica was amazing! They each took time and spoke with him and even gave him tips about his guitar. Chloe made some bracelets and gave some to the band! We got some pictures of them wearing them on stage. My momma heart is so full that he got to experience this. Jay and I are so thankful for the ongoing support. Laurie and Denise were absolutely wonderful."
Savannah: One ELLE of a New York City Dream Trip
Savannah has wanted to go to New York City with her family since she was little, so ELLE put together a special trip to all the best places: she stayed at the Plaza Hotel with VIP treatment (including a chauffeured Maybach and welcome gifts), went to the Empire State building, Tiffany through the Years exhibit complete with an Elsa Peretti heart to remember her trip, as well as to the Lion King on Broadway, and a special dinner at Hudson Yards Peak with Priceless.
From Savannah:
"I wanted to say thank you soooooo much for granting my wish to come to New York me and my family. It has been an absolute dream to be here and being able to go to all the places I have been wanting to experience for all this time. Your foundation is the absolute best for granting kids wishes…I am so grateful to have experienced this once in a lifetime experience because of you."
From her mom:
"There is not enough words to thank you for this amazing wish you granted for Savannah. I remember applying for this wish and praying that Savannah could have the opportunity to have another wish! We felt defeated, then to hear that you would give her the wish was such a blessing. Seeing Savannah smile this entire week has reminded how precious life is."
Kaylee: One ELLE of a GKTW and Orlando Family Trip
Kaylee, a 7 year old from Baytown, TX, had originally wished to go to Disneyworld but was delayed due to COVID so ELLE was very excited to get Kaylee and her family off on the trip! They stayed at Give Kids The World and spent many happy days at the park, meeting and taking pictures with Disney characters Moana, Daisy Duck, the Little Mermaid and the Toy Story gang…she even learned to wield a light saber!
From the Family:
"From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank you for making Kaylee’s trip to Disneyworld a possibility and such a success. This trip would have never been possible without your team and the amazing people that donate to ensure children get their wishes granted.
We had the best week of our lives and Kaylee enjoyed every second of it! Seeing her so full of joy made the experience that much more unforgettable."
